Beverly Citywide Compost Program Enrollment
The new Citywide Curbside Compost program is open to Beverly, and is now enrolling!
The program is facilitated and sponsored by the Beverly Waste Reduction Committee (BWRC), and is available for all residents: home owners, condo owners, renters, and small businesses alike. If you have an address in Beverly, you can participate (condo owners and renters may need to confer with condo associations and landlords). So join us!
To enroll with Black Earth Compost, simply fill out and submit the form below!
Important Reminder: Current pilot program participants must also enroll, as the pilot program will end in September and be replaced by this new program.
Cost: $35 billed every six months. You will receive an invoice from Black Earth within 7 days of enrolling
Rebate: $20 from the city per year, appearing as a $5 rebate against the trash fee on your quarterly water and sewer bill
Referral (new!): If a friend referred you to this program, please give us their full name when you enroll. You will both receive a $10 referral bonus. Spread the word and save!
Total annual cost with rebate: $50, or 96 cents per week!
Pick up days: There will be three pickup days in Beverly: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. To find your day, please consult the map below (click the map to see a larger version):
Free bins: With funding provided by a grant from the Mass Dept. of Environmental Protection the BWRC will be able to provide green curbside bins as well as free counter-top/refrigerator bins for new participants in the curbside program. Your bins will be delivered to you once you pay your first invoice.

The curbside compost service is not being provided by the city.
You will need to make arrangements with Black Earth Compost (the pilot program hauler) or other company of your choosing that is able to lawfully pick up and compost organic waste while meeting the Engineering Departments standards.
The information you provide will be given to Black Earth Compost for your convenience. It may also be given to other compost service companies upon their request. If you decide to use your own third party compost service, please contact the engineering department at 978-605-2355
Property owners using a qualified compost service will be eligible for a partial exemption from the annual trash fee in the amount of $5.00 per quarter, which will be reflected on the owner’s bill.
The amount or availability of the partial exemption may be changed or eliminated by the City in the future.
Renters are encouraged to participate in composting but are not directly eligible for the exemption because the trash fee is not billed to them. We encourage you to speak with your landlord about taking advantage of this exemption.
Please note that all information provided to the City of Beverly is presumed to become a public record.
