THE BIN: Pilot participants can continue to use their green 13 gallon curbside bin provided by the town of Natick. If you are new to composting the town has compost starter kits available for free when you sign up for a year of service. Starter kits, which include a 13 gallon curbside bin and kitchen counter top bin are only available to residents who are new to curbside composting and will be delivered by the Department of Public Works.
Households that sign up for six months of service will be required to purchase a bin through us during enrollment. Our 13 gallon curbside bin comes with wheels and locking lid for $24.
We require your compost be contained within bags inside your bin, either with a paper bag or compostable bag to keep bins clean and empty completely. Compostable bags that fit the 13 gallon bin and kitchen counter top container bags can be purchased through our web store and will be dropped of when we pick up your compost. Compostable bags are also available at cost, courtesy of the town, at Tilly and Salvy’s Bacon St. Farm.
